Wang Chai Nat Co., Ltd. is preparing to set up a new sugar factory in Nong Ma Mong and Wang Takian Sub-districts, Nong Ma Mong District, Chai Nat Province. This new factory, if constructed, will have the daily capacity to produce up to 38,000 tons of sugar. Within the same compound, a 75-megawatt biomass power plant will also be constructed to generate the electricity for the factory.

Environmental Monitoring of Zawtika Onshore Gas Pipeline Project, Republic of the Union of Myanmar

In a bid to seek and develop alternative energy from domestic and overseas sources to help secure Thailand’s energy situation, the PTTEPI, a subsidiary of PTT GROUP, signed the Production Sharing Contract (PSC) with Myanmar Oil & Gas Enterprise (MOGE) for the exploration and production of natural gas from Zawtika Field. The PTT will develop a new onshore pipeline aiming to connect to the PTT pipeline at Ban I-Tong in Kanchanaburi on the Thailand-Myanmar border. It is estimated that the project will produce 300 million cubic feet of gas per day.

Wind-Turbine Generator in Mueang Samut Sakhon District, Samut Sakhon

The onshore Kalong Sub-district of Mueang Samut Sakhon District is among the most promising locations for a wind energy system in Thailand. Consisting of five 1.5 MW capacity wind turbines, and service, buffer and green areas, the wind farm will cover an area of about 100 acres in an area of salt farms and coastal aquaculture. The wind turbines will generate a total of 19,628,539 kWh/annual of electricity for use by the local community and will also reduce CO2 emissions by as much as 12,248.21 tons each year.

Environment and Health Impact Assessment for Mae Moh Lignite Mining Project

The Mae Moh Lignite Mining Project is located in Tambon Mae Mo and Tambon Ban Dong, Mae Moh district, Lampang province. Spanning over 13,874 rai of land, the project has the capacity to produce about 16 million tons of lignite each year and all will be sent to Mae Moh Power Plant. EGAT has assigned TEAM GROUP to conduct the environmental and health impact assessment (EHIA) for the project, and to assess two choices of location.
