Construction Supervision of Khlong Prem Prachakon Drainage Tunnel from Khlong Bang Bua into the Chao Phraya River project

Client: Drainage and Sewerage Department, Bangkok Metropolitan Administration

The construction of Khlong Prem Prachakon Drainage Tunnel from Khlong Bang Bua into the Chao Phraya River project aims to prevent and solve Bangkok’s flooding problems by improving the drainage systems in Don Mueang District, Lak Si District, Sai Mai District, Bang Khen District, and Chatuchak District; which cover around 109 kilometers of Bangkok area. During the rainy season, the tunnel will support the drainage systems by quickly transmitting water directly into the Chao Phraya River instead of through other canals. Additionally, during drought periods, the tunnel will divert water from the Chao Phraya River into Khlong Prem Prachakon, Khlong Bang Khen, Khlong Lak Si, and Khlong Bang Bua to dilute wastewater and improve water quality. The tunnel project will enhance flood prevention and drainage systems according to Bangkok Flood Prevention Projects.
