Phase 1 of the New Zoo Construction at Khlong Hok

Owner: The Zoological Park Organization of Thailand under the Royal Patronage

The first phase of this project is creating a modern zoo in Khlong Hok that will be the foremost of its kind in Thailand and rival those of international standard worldwide. This zoo will be a center for learning about the world of nature and important wildlife found both locally and globally. In addition, this zoo will focus on wildlife conservation, research, and breeding to promote animal reproduction before eventual release of certain species back into the wild. It will also serve as a recreational site for the general public that encourages ecotourism in an environmentally friendly manner. When the zoo opens, it will cover an area of 300 rai.

TEAM GROUP, on behalf of the RSDT Consortium, has been entrusted by the Zoological Park Organization of Thailand with the project construction management, installation of public utilities, and water management. The first phase of this project will involve the construction of seven major buildings: the Chaloem Phra Kiat building, the head office, the reception hall, the learning center, the animal feed warehouse, the kiosk building and the waste collection and segregation facility, and the Asian and African wildlife containment zones. The total construction cost is estimated at 5,354 million baht, with a construction period of 900 days.
